COR UNUM et ANIMA UNA - EVERYTIME, EVERYWHERE, ALWAYS

Starting from the idea of creating a website for the OMI Formation House, in July 2010, Fr. Henricus Asodo, OMI, Scholasticate Superior, talked to the Administrator of Website of Trinity Parish, Cengkareng, Jakarta, whom he has known. Fr. Asodo wanted to introduce and promote the Novitiate and Scholasticate of OMI Indonesian Province which are located in Yogyakarta.  After it was discussed with Fr. Antonius Andri Atmaka, OMI, the Provincial of OMI Indonesia at that time, it was decided that the website would be for OMI Indonesian Province – then called “WOI”.

The first step was to contact a Catholic youth from Trinity Parish, Cengkareng, Jakarta, Yofie Setiawan.  He is working in the line of Web Design & Development under the company of Yopdesign and is also administering the website of Trinity Parish, Cengkareng. Then, some alternative names for the website domain were thought, but eventually it was agreed to take the name of the domain as "omi-indonesia.org". The appearance of the WOI is designed to reach out all works and missions of the Oblates’ in Indonesian Province. By surfing in WOI, visitors can enrich their insights about OMI Indonesia through its history, ministries, and personnel in Indonesia. There are also some information about the Formation House, the works of the Oblates in the parishes which are located in Java, West Kalimantan, and East Kalimantan, and other social and devotional works done by the Indonesian Oblates. Other parts that are not less interesting are about the works of OMI associates and knowing better about the Oblates's spirituality as well as the life journey of St. Eugene de Mazenod, our Founder.

Pope Benedict XVI in commemorating the 45th World Social Communications Day, on June 5, 2011, invited all of us to be confidently and with an informed and responsible creativity, to join the network of relationships which the digital era has made possible. “This is not simply to satisfy the desire to be present, but because this network is an integral part of human life. The web is contributing to the development of new and more complex intellectual and spiritual horizons, new forms of shared awareness,” said the Holy Father. WOI is present to be an instrument of the digital informatics that would complete our life in this modern era. WOI would become a sign of the presence of OMI Indonesian Province in the virtual world. Then, the administrator of WOI is really expecting the participation of all Oblates and lay associates in Indonesia to always use this website as an instrument to share their experiences in their works and in their missions.

Use WOI as a remedy of homesick when you are away from Indonesia.

Use WOI as a sign of a strong brotherly love bond among the Oblates and their lay associates.

Cor Unum et Anima Una – One heart and One Soul – always! (OMI Indonesian Website Team).
