Words of Wisdom from the Saints (1)

Saint John Chrysostom - Priests have received a power which God has given neither to angels nor to archangels. It was said to them: "Whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever you shall loose, shall be loosed." Temporal rulers have indeed the power of binding; but they can only bind the body. Priests, in contrast, can bind with a bond which pertains to the soul itself and transcends the very heavens. Did [God] not give them all the powers of heaven?...What greater power is there than this? The Father has given all judgment to the Son. And now I see the Son placing all this power in the hands of men. They are raised to this dignity as if they were already gathered up to heaven.

Saint Terese of Lisieux (Little Flower) - For me prayer is a surge of the heart, it is a simple look towards Heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.

Saint Bernard - The greetings from the angel to Mary: "Blessed are you, full of grace." The abundance of grace she received is not earned for herself but as well for us all, so that we who respect her can take part of it.  The grace was received by Mary so that all mankind be saved.

Blessed Pope John Paul - The Rosary is a powerful prayer for peace, for the family, and for reflections of events in the life of Jesus.

Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort - From all creatures, Mary is the most similar to Jesus Christ.  There is no other devotion which can make a man more dedicated to the Lord and make a man similar with God than the devotion to His Holy Mother.  So, the more a man dedicates himself to Mary, the more he dedicates himself to Jesus Christ.
